Confusion about GATE 2014 Results

Here are some facts about GATE 2014 Examination Results. On March 11, 2014 Administrators of GATE Website had moved forward to test run the script in odd times at 11 PM. In this time some of the students logged on to the website with the login credentials given at the time of candidate registration. Here is the URL where the previous results were hosted on http://gateapp.iitb.ac.in:8080/GATE. However, we can’t take final decision that these results are fake or not. Most probable these are true results since some candidates downloaded their result when it was in test condition.

If you won’t get GATE 2014 Result during this period, please don’t be tensed. Wait for couple of days to download the Gate 2014 Score from the same website which was previously launched. The following are the cutoff marks (EC) based on the results that were caught during the test run of Gate administrators.

• General – 25
• OBC (NCL) – 22.5
• SC/ST/PD - 16.67

Gate 2014 Score card will be valid for one year after the completion of examination. Score cards will be mailed to the students who will meet the qualifying mark under the prescribed category.

There is a special note highlighted on the official website about the release of Gate Results 2014. They clearly mentioned that the results will be out to the public on 15 March, 2014. Candidates are requested to check their score on this day after 10.00 AM.

Are the published results fake?
We don’t think that the results which were announced few days ago are fake. But some of the students mentioned that these results made them discouraged since they expected more of what they got on March 11, 2014. However, candidates have to wait a day to know the exact scores of Gate 2014 officially.

Candidates will also have an opportunity (till 20:00 hrs on 19 March 2014) to change the Communication Address, to which the scorecards (printed on official stationery) will be sent by Speed Post.
